Event Details

Famously depicted as Crookback Dick, and as Shakespeare’s bunch-back’d toad, the murderer of the Princes in the Tower and the warrior vanquished at the Battle of Bosworth Field, Richard III is one of England's most enigmatic monarchs and his death marked the end of the Plantegenet dynasty, which had ruled England since 1154.

Acclaimed historian, David Horspool in discussion with journalist and writer, Harry Mount, uses his book on Richard III as a springboard to compare the lives of Richard III and his nemesis, Henry Tudor.

Born at Pembroke Castle, Henry Tudor was described as 'a dark prince, and infinitely suspicious, and his times full of secret conspiracies and troubles' by Sir Francis Bacon. Henry VII went on to beat Richard III at Bosworth Field and establish the fascinating Tudor dynasty on the throne of England.
